Herbivores

A Herbivores are animals that anatomically and physiologically adapted to eating plant material, for example foliage, as the main component of its diet. As a result of their plant diet, herbivorous animals typically have mouthparts adapted to rasping or grinding. Horses and other herbivores have wide flat teeth that are adapted to grinding grass, tree bark, and other tough plant material.

Cheetal / Spotted DearCheetal / Spotted Dear:: This is Indiaà­¯st common and easily seen deer. Sexes are almost identical. They are the most beautiful amongst the all deers. Usually found in herds of 10 to 20 members. It lives in the forest combined with the grass land and perennial source of water. They eat grass, fruit and leaves. Its coat is bright rufous & white spot on the flanks are arranged in longitudinal rows.

ChinkaraChinkara:: Chinkara is 75 cm tall & weighs about 25 kg. They live in arid plains, dry scrub & light forests. By nature they are shy & avoid human habitation. They can go without water for long periods & can get sufficient fluids from plants & dew. Males & females both have horns but the horns in females are comparatively short.

Black BuckBlack Buck:: Found extensively in the Indian sub continent, it is an antelope of grasslands. Adult males are dark brown to velvet black with white undersides. Males have beautiful spiral horns.
